James Joseph Brown otherwise known as the Godfather of Soul paved the way for generations of artists to rise to the occasion such as Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jackie Wilson and Michael Jackson these were the pioneers of great entertainers and make no mistake each in the own right commanded great stage shows; however James Brown hold claims to being not only the Godfather of Soul but he is the Father of HipHop.

James Brown defied gravity and the traditions of Gospel by giving musicians a chance to share the spotlight with him, no other solo artists ever did this feat. James Brown gave the world Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Bootsy Collins, Pee Wee Ellis, Bobby Byrd, John Jabo Starks, Sir Waldo Weathers.

Michael Jackson credits James Brown as being the greatest influence in his music career. James Brown was the innovator that integrated powerful dance with powerful vocal, horns blaring, and one of the most furious rhythm section to date. On December 25, 2006 James Brown succumbed to pneumonia and with his passing he was no longer the living legend , he is now just a legend.

Larry and his band choses to be authentic to the legacy with the conception in mind that there will only be one James Brown.
